5 Of the Best Keto Breads
Bread is one of those things that you can’t live without! No matter what diet you’re on, you probably aren’t allowed near the stuff, and chances are you’re missing it 😠
It is the ultimate comfort food and goes with just about anything. Growing up it was common to have toast for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch (yes, plural 🐽) and bread with dinner. It’s a filler and a darn tasty one too.
Obviously bread has a shocking amount of empty calories and is loaded with sugar. It’s completely out of question to eat regular bread on the keto diet. Each regular slice of white bread has ⏬
- 2.57 protein
- 1g fat
- 14g carbs
- .8g fibre
Thankfully there are amazingly creative keto people out there who have come up with all sorts of lovely keto friendly breads. Ok, so they won’t taste exactly like the regular stuff but they will absolutely fill that carby void in your lunchbox 😉
Check out my take on 5 Of the Best Keto Breads around!
1. The Keto Queens Keto Bread
At 4g of carbs per slice this bread makes 14 servings. It uses both coconut and almond flour and has a real bread like consistency. It does have quite a few ingredients but the end result justifies the means. The recipe requires psyllium husk which isn’t easy to find in most supermarkets but you can but it on Amazon here . Check out the recipe and steps over on their page by clicking here.
2. Diet Doctor The Keto Bread
Each roll has 2g of carbs which makes it a decent option on the keto diet if you’re only eating 20g of carbs per day! The recipe is versatile and can be made into other shapes instead of rolls. The lack of eggs in this one makes it a lot less eggier than some of the more common keto bread recipes. I have tried these myself and used them as hamburger buns. They were very easy to make and apart from the psyllium husk, I had everything else I needed to make this in the kitchen. Check out the recipe here .
3. Sweet CS Designs Easy Keto Sandwich Bread
This keto sandwich bread doesn’t require fussy ingredients or equipment. It is slightly higher in carbs at 5g per slice and the recipe makes 12 slices. Again, this recipe has no eggs and actually resembles the texture of regular sandwich bread. Check out the recipe and steps here .
4. Sugarfree Londoner Almond Flour Bread
The typical keto almond bread has a whopping 6 eggs in it and as a result is very eggy. This almond bread recipe from Sugarfree Londoner only uses 2 eggs and is miraculously only 1g of carbs per slice. This bread is the easiest to make and with such low macros you can allow yourself to indulge! Check out the recipe here.
5. Kirbie’s Cravings Keto Bread Rolls
These little golden nuggets are a staple in my keto baking. They are ridiculously simple to make and are only 4g of carbs per roll. They can be served as hamburger sliders or just eaten with lots of butter and hot soup. The recipe is a spin on the ‘Fathead dough’ we all know and love from our keto pizzas. These little balls are fluffy, tasty and again not at all eggy. Find all the details here.
There are so many low carb and keto bread recipes on the internet, it really is just a matter of trial and error in finding one that you like. These 5 recipes to me are all absolute gems because they aren’t too difficult to make and they also actually resemble bread. Having tried it dozens of times, I still can’t bring myself to make the famous 6 egg Almond Bread loaf again. It tasted far too eggy for me 😮
